Getting Started

How do I download Arena Zero?
You can't yet — Arena Zero is currently in pre-alpha and not publicly available for download. Join our Discord to follow development and get notified when the first playtests open.
Is Arena Zero free to play?
Yes, Arena Zero will be completely free at release. There are no pay-to-win mechanics, no loot boxes affecting gameplay, and no premium subscriptions required for competitive fairness.
What are the minimum system requirements?
Arena Zero runs on Godot Engine 4.7 and is optimized to run on a wide range of hardware. Minimum: dual-core CPU, 4GB RAM, integrated graphics. Recommended: quad-core CPU, 8GB RAM, dedicated GPU. See the System Requirements page for full details.
Do I need an account to play?
No. Arena Zero does not have an account system at this stage — your profile, settings, and stats are stored locally on your device. An account system with cloud sync across devices is planned, and we'll announce it on Discord when it's ready.
Can I play with friends?
Yes! Use the Friends system to add other players and form a party. You can also join our Discord server to find teammates and scrim partners.

Competitive Play

How does the ranked system work?
Arena Zero uses an ELO-based matchmaking system. Win matches to climb the leaderboard. Your rank is displayed prominently and updates after every ranked match. Ranks reset at the start of each competitive season.
What game modes are available?
Competitive 5v5 Bomb Defusal (MR12 format with overtime) and Duel Mode (1v1, first to 11). Both modes are available in both casual and ranked variants.
How does the economy system work?
Each round you earn money for kills, winning the round, and surviving. Spend your balance on weapons, armor, and utility. Manage your team's economy strategically — sometimes saving for a 'force buy' round is smarter than full-buying every round.
Are demos/recordings available?
Yes, every ranked match is automatically recorded. You can access your match history and download demo files from your profile. Demos are useful for reviewing your gameplay and improving.
Is there a spectator mode?
Yes, you can spectate ongoing matches from your friends list or match history. Spectator features include free-look camera, player following, and a minimap overview.

Anti-Cheat & Fair Play

Does Arena Zero have anti-cheat?
Yes. Our anti-cheat system runs during gameplay and validates inputs server-side. It detects unauthorized software modifications, aim assistance, and other exploits. We also use server-side rate limiting and input verification for added protection.
Will anti-cheat access my personal files?
No. Our anti-cheat only monitors game-specific memory and inputs. It does not access your personal files, photos, documents, or any data outside the Arena Zero game directory.
I was banned unfairly. What can I do?
If you believe you were wrongly banned, contact us at mail@pykez.com with your Steam ID and the match details (server, time, map). Note: evading bans via alternate accounts (smurfing) is itself a violation.
What happens if I disconnect mid-match?
Occasional disconnects are no problem — competitive gives you a 30-second reconnect window, and only a fully absent side risks a forfeit. A cross-match reliability rating does not exist yet.

Account & Technical

How do I reset my password?
There is no password — Arena Zero has no account system at this stage. Once playtests open you play with your Steam identity; until then your profile and settings live only on your device.
My game is crashing. What should I do?
First, ensure your GPU drivers are up to date. Crash reports reach us automatically through our crash pipeline — if crashes persist, tell us on Discord with your system specs so we can correlate the report.
Can I change my username?
Your in-game display name is your Steam profile name — change it in Steam and it updates in Arena Zero. There is no separate Arena Zero account name at this stage.
How do I delete my account?
There is no account to delete at this stage — your profile, settings, and stats are stored locally on your device, and removing the local game data removes them. When an account system launches, GDPR deletion requests will be handled via mail@pykez.com.
Is cross-play supported?
Arena Zero targets Windows PC for the game client, with Linux for dedicated servers. macOS and console versions are not currently planned.
